American Heart Association Community CPR Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Responsibilities

The AHA is looking for a Community CPR Manager in the SouthWest region. This position will report to the SVP Health Strategies under the department of Healthcare Business Solutions. Our Healthcare Business Solutions (HBS) department educates healthcare providers, caregivers and the general public on responding to cardiovascular emergencies. HBS is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the importance of early intervention, ensuring greater access to CPR training and increasing bystander response rates and survival from cardiac arrest.

Collaborating with internal AHA staff partners and community volunteers/champions, the Community CPR Manager is responsible for the identification, development and implementation of Emergency Preparedness Programs resulting in greater access CPR training programs to individuals, schools, hospitals, businesses and community groups. Key position objectives include the achievement goals for placement of community CPR training products (CPR Anytime Adult/Child, Infant CPR Anytime, CPR in Schools, CPR and First Aid Anywhere, CPR and First Aid for Youth Sports), restricted revenue secured (foundation grants, sponsorships, individual gifts) and the ongoing assessment of communities with greatest needs (Improvement of OHCA and bystander response rates.

Essential Job Duties:

  • In collaboration with AHA internal and external emergency response champions, develop and execute annual business plan resulting in greater access to CPR/First Aid/Safety training in priority communities.

  • In collaboration with AHA internal partners and community champions, identify, assess and manage emergency response needs for communities in assigned territory. Support AHA Mission Advancement/Development staff in the solicitation process of prospects. Effectively manage the full implementation of priority restricted funding opportunities in assigned territory.

  • Perform accurate & timely fulfillment of program administration duties; effective management of tracking, reporting processes for training programs funded by individuals and foundations. Ensure ongoing maintenance and monthly submission of progress reports to appropriate internal workstreams (grant administrators, regional leadership, National HBS Department, National Consultant). As needed, provide progress updates and reports to appropriate external partners.

  • Effectively communicates and actively engagesregularly with appropriate AHA regional staff teams, HBS staff team, Community CPR Manager Team.

  • Develop necessary tools required for successful program implementation.

  • Able to facilitate the identification, recruitment and selection of appropriate volunteers to lead the board and committee activities required to drive results in achieving the mission and strategic objectives of AHA

  • Able to communicate, build relationships, gain trust and effectively work with and through volunteers

  • Able to train and develop volunteers

  • Able to complete succession planning for key volunteer position

  • Able to communicate strategic direction and provide consultation to volunteer committees and Board members

  • Able to inspire change through volunteers

  • Able to measure and increase engagement and motivation of volunteers at all levels

  • Able to effectively assess and leverage volunteer skill sets and interests by developing and utilizing volunteer roles in meaningful ways

  • Able to proactively and effectively communicate across diverse audience of volunteers

  • Able to instill spirit and feeling of belonging with volunteers

  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • We prefer at least 2 years of:

  • Field experience in program development, project management, sales or corporate development work

  • Experience and/or qualifications in marketing or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated effective management and engagement of volunteers

  • Experience in developing relationships with healthcare (Hosptial NICU's), community organizations, schools, businesses

  • Strong program management skills

  • Ability to present key ideas in a succinct and timely manner. Ability to learn and retain product specific information

  • Detailed oriented with sensitivity to timeliness

  • Strong organizational skills for project/account planning/management

  • Demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

Salary minimum to midpoint of the range: $78,000 - $104,000.

Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply . AHA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any difference between actual compensation and the posted range will be based on factors other than race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy) or national origin.

Incentive:

This position is incentive eligible based on achieving certain targets.

Benefit Plans:

Employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the medical, dental, and vision plans the first of the month following 30 days of service. AHA subsidizes the medical and dental cost to ensure benefits are affordable. Eligible dependents under AHA’s group benefit plans include legal spouse, domestic partner, children under the age of 26 or who are disabled. AHA offers additional benefits like an EAP, telehealth benefit for general medical and behavioral health, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and disability.

Retirement Plans: AHA retirement plans offer employees a way to start saving after their first paycheck. The retirement plans provide employer contributions after two years of service. If you have previous 501(c)(3) non-profit experience, within the last 5 years, at a national health agency, an institution of higher learning or a medical institution, that experience may count towards the two-year waiting period. Employees are 100% vested in employee and employer contributions.

Paid Days Off: Regular full-time and part-time employees earn Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service. PTO begins accruing on date of hire. Full time employees receive one paid Community Service time off day per year and are encouraged to participate in projects, programs and organizations which contribute to the health and vitality of their communities. AHA also offers 12 paid holidays per year.

Leaves of Absence: AHA offers both Short Term and Long Term Disability benefits which replace earnings if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Employees are eligible for Short Term Disability after 90 days of service and are eligible for Long Term Disability after being disabled for 90 days or more. Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks off of work for a qualified leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), intermittent FMLA leaves and leave as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA.
