Responsibilities

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Director, Center for Workplace Health Research & Evaluation in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX .

Duties : Analyze science, health services, and policy and develop briefs for the Chief Medical Officer for Prevention. Provide consultation and facilitation of data analysis, evaluation of programs and interpretation of results and identify policies, best practices and innovative ideas/trends to communicate and present to the CEO Round Table. Participate and collaborate with internal and external leadership on planning, development and design of CEO Round Table initiatives. Provide administrative support for the Workplace Health Steering Committee. Provide consultation, guidance and analysis on science content through evidence-based approaches and protocols to internal staff that develop and maintain public and professional programs. Provide science advisory services on health programs product design, implementation and evaluation for the Workplace Health Solution department. Provide consultation for data elements, data analysis, and interpretation of results for the Workplace Health Achievement Index. Establish and support the Center for Workplace Health Research and Evaluation (CWHRE) focused on workplace health research and evaluation. Develop and implement the CWHRE strategic plan. Manage staff (Program Evaluation Analyst and Interns) in support of the Center mission and impact strategies. Collaborate with the Center for Health Metrics and Evaluation (CHME) on enterprise-wide metrics and evaluation processes, including capacity building and training processes. Evaluate science content of programs to ensure and facilitate integration of evidence-based approaches to program development.

Qualifications

Requirements : Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation in public health policy for a non-profit, government or academic environment. Experience and skill set must include: 1) Three years of experience in health policy, population health, cardiovascular health, or neuroscience analysis. 2) Three years of training and/or demonstrated experience in evidence-based research methods in science or health. 3) Competence in writing, communicating and public speaking with a publication or presentation history. 4) Three years of experience developing strategic plans. 5) Three years of experience in administration of workplace health promotion. 6) Three years of experience in the implementation and evaluation of workplace health promotion programs. 7) Advanced knowledge of current practices in workplace health program design and implementation. 8) Three years of experience using statistical methods to evaluate the effectiveness of systems-based and work-place level interventions in employer-based settings.
