The American Heart Association (AHA) has a phenomenal opportunity for an Intern in our Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine group located at our National Center office in Dallas, TX.

This internship will last approximately 4 months.

This internship will focus on supporting the Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine group and is intended to better your knowledge, understanding, and experience in Data Science and statistical analytics. The individual will be responsible for retrieving, processing, analyzing the clinical data, and summarizing results to cross-functional teams. You will have the opportunity to learn and work with staff from the Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine as well as other departments and volunteers. We will gladly work with your schedule, but we are expecting this person to work approx. 20 hours each week.

  • Currently pursuing a BA/BS or higher in a related field of study.

  • Must be knowledgeable in R, python, and a range of data science analysis software.

  • Must have the knowledge of statistical analysis

  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • AHA knowledge.

  • Understanding of health equity.

  • Prior experience with clinical data.
