Responsibilities

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Digital Development in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX.

The primary responsibility of the Sr Manager, Digital Development is to ensure high performance outcomes from the resources, processes and deliverables for our Sitecore, and WordPress, application development & Support team. This position provides leadership and general oversight. It also establishes team direction, work priorities, and staff focus. The Sr Manager, Digital Development measures departmental progress and customer satisfaction with deliverables related to AHA’s development of new applications and support of existing web sites. This position is a member of the Digital Solutions leadership team and works in close conjunction with the Business Technology Strategic Planning process to ensure consistency with corporate strategy.

*Due to the current pandemic, all staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position will resume being based in the local office*

Essential Job Duties:

  • Attracts, develops, coaches and supervises the Sitecore, WordPress, and Digital Development Team.

  • Maintains Digital development, enhancement and implementation methodologies with associated standards and procedures.

  • Works with product sponsor(s) and user community to identify and complete enhancements and maintenance needed to existing systems.

  • Communicates project status and time estimates for remaining work on a regular basis to appropriate staff.

  • Works with Product Sponsors and Business Experts to develop a "case for support" project scope, costs and benefits and estimating guidelines for individual application enhancement and upgrade projects.

  • Organizes and administers 3rd party software evaluation and systems development, enhancement and implementation projects by managing the development of project work plans and staffing plans, providing project management and control, and completing review of key project deliverables.

  • Prepares project status reports and conducts status meetings, as needed, with the product sponsor(s), business expert(s), user design team and senior management.

  • Participates in annual budgeting process and monitors budget on an ongoing basis.

  • Manages R&D efforts for the purpose of evaluating new technologies.

  • Manages activities with complete integrity and in accordance with AHA policies, systems, practices and programs.

  • Other specific duties as directed by the Director, Digital Solutions Management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Information Technology, Computer Science or related area.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in web/technology business, broad based leadership and general business management experience gained in a variety of assignments, functions, and business environments.

  • Experience managing enterprise application teams.

  • Successful development and implementation of enterprise-wide strategies and tactics.

  • Supervisory and Project Management experience required.

  • Evidence of continuing education and development.

  • Ability to interact well both with internal customers and project teams.

Here are some of the preferred skills/experiences we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Sitecore, WordPress, .Net, Coveo Search, and Azure Cloud.
