We are bringing our mission to life across Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Come join us! We are currently hiring a Development Director for our Los Angeles Division . The Development Director will generate revenue for our Go Red for Women fundraising campaign. This campaign includes our signature Los Angeles Go Red for Women Celebration event.
We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities
Manages relationships with current and prospective individuals and companies to reach fundraising goals. Applies fundraising practices, including American Heart Association Best Practices, to drive sustainable growth. Directly accountable for achieving revenue goals aligned with funding research, public health, professional education and training and community services.
Leads and actively participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and management of new individual philanthropic and corporate sponsorship relationships. This includes completing research on individuals and businesses within assigned market and developing profiles and strategic plans to secure involvement. Develop a 3-year plan for account development and corporate sponsorships that allows for maximum revenue based on market potential as part of an overall portfolio that may span fundraising campaigns.
Drives the ongoing process of identifying, recruiting, and activating an influential, financially strong and inclusive volunteer leadership base to support the campaign(s) on a sustained basis. Includes the recruitment and engagement of fundraising chairs and leadership teams to champion achievement of identified goals through their personal and corporate giving and influencing the involvement and giving of others.
Plans, manages, implements, and evaluates strategies and initiatives aligned with revenue generation and volunteer leadership engagement strategies. Drives campaign growth through effective donor cultivation and engagement with integration across Association initiatives.
Develops and implements year-round pipelines and cultivation plans for individual donors and corporate accounts, ensuring sufficient depth for revenue generation and excellent customer relations.
Manages customer and campaign information utilizing Association systems accurately, timely and completely in accordance with established guidelines.
Proactively ensures timely communication with internal and external partners and customers, supporting collaboration in account management and activities to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications
3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred
Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level
Knowledge of corporate and community networks
Compensation & Benefits
Expected pay range will be $66,700 to $80,000 annually. This position is incentive eligible based on achieving certain targets. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
