American Heart Association Youth Market Director in San Antonio, Texas

Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel. All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position will resume to being based in the local office.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Youth Market Director reporting to the Regional Vice Present of Development Strategies in the SouthWest region . The selected candidate will be part of a 4 person team responsible for developing programs and driving revenue in secondary schools, colleges, school districts as well as streaming/social media platforms and crowdfunding sites for gaming. This position will research & help identify contacts to assist with recruitment of volunteers who will engage with our mission and help fundraise to reach our $3M annual goal. This can be a home officed position or the candidate may office in one of the local markets. This position may require travel including overnights. This position will be home office and can be located in any of the following states: (TX, CO, AR, NM, OK, WY).

Essential Job Duties:

  • Share in the development of fundraising programs including innovation and critical thinking to overcome obstacles and anticipate program gaps.

  • Create collateral to support the development of these programs.

  • Help build the pipeline to reach $3M annual goal.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Experience with video editing, Canva, Clip Champ, iMovie.

  • Familiarity with streaming platforms including TwitchTV, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and livestream video game events. etc. preferred.

  • Must be comfortable making phone calls, reaching out via email, etc.

  • Ensure adherence to all National and Regional Youth Market policies, guidelines and procedures.

  • Collaborate with Regional counterparts in other areas of the Region as well as Nationally.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree. Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years’ experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.

  • Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated community organization skills with the ability to recruit, train and manage volunteers effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to work with all social strata, occupations and diverse backgrounds.

  • Willingness and ability to travel within the Region and to National Center as needed.

  • Presentation skills for small and large groups.

  • Ability to work as part of an integrated team.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

Salary minimum to midpoint of the range: $56,000-$73,500. This position is incentive eligible based on achieving certain targets.

Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply . AHA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any difference between actual compensation and the posted range will be based on factors other than race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy) or national origin.This position is incentive eligible based on achieving certain targets.

Benefit Plans: Employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the medical, dental, and vision plans the first of the month following 30 days of service. AHA subsidizes the medical and dental cost to ensure benefits are affordable. Eligible dependents under AHA’s group benefit plans include legal spouse, domestic partner, children under the age of 26 or who are disabled. AHA offers additional benefits like an EAP, telehealth benefit for general medical and behavioral health, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and disability.

Retirement Plans : AHA retirement plans offer employees a way to start saving after their first paycheck. The retirement plans provide employer contributions after two years of service. If you have previous 501(c)(3) non-profit experience, within the last 5 years, at a national health agency, an institution of higher learning or a medical institution, that experience may count towards the two-year waiting period. Employees are 100% vested in employee and employer contributions.

Paid Days Off: Regular full-time and part-time employees earn Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service. PTO begins accruing on date of hire. Full time employees receive one paid Community Service time off day per year and are encouraged to participate in projects, programs and organizations which contribute to the health and vitality of their communities. AHA also offers 12 paid holidays per year.

Leaves of Absence : AHA offers both Short Term and Long Term Disability benefits which replace earnings if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Employees are eligible for Short Term Disability after 90 days of service and are eligible for Long Term Disability after being disabled for 90 days or more. Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks off of work for a qualified leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), intermittent FMLA leaves and leave as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA.
